Mr Beatty is currently an investor and advisor to startups and growth companies in the technology space. His current board roles include FourKites, Inc; a provider of load tracking, SaaS software in the logistics space and Fullerton Engineering Consultants, Inc; an engineering services provider to wireless companies. Mr Beatty is an investor in numerous early-stage companies and is an active member of Hyde Park Angels, the Midwest’s largest early-stage investor.

Mr Beatty’s served as the interim President of FourKites from April thru July of 2015, to assist the Company’s founder with developmental activities. Prior to that, he was President, Chief Executive Officer and a board member of Telular Corporation from 2008 until its sale in June 2013. Telular was a publicly held, “Internet of Things” company based in Chicago.

From June 2003 until June 2006, Mr Beatty was President and Chief Executive Officer of Concourse Communications Group, a privately-held developer and operator of distributed antenna systems and airport Wi-Fi networks. The concourse was sold to Boingo Wireless in June 2006. From March 2001 until June 2003, Mr Beatty worked with private equity firm Cardinal Growth L.P. on various acquisition projects and also acted as Interim Chief Financial Officer for Novaxess B.V., a privately-held telecom services provider based in the Netherlands and owned by Battery Ventures, among others.

From November 1996 until February 2001, Mr Beatty was a co-founder and the Chief Financial Officer of Focal Communications Corporation, a startup to publicly-held, telecom services provider which competed with the former Bell telephone companies. Earlier in his career, Mr Beatty was a securities analyst and also held numerous technical management positions for a local telecom services provider.

Mr Beatty is a former Chairman of the board of trustees of Edward-Elmhurst Health Services Corporation, a not-for-profit hospital system located in Chicago’s western suburbs and currently serves as a director of EEH SPC, its captive insurance subsidiary, domiciled in the Cayman Islands. Mr Beatty earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.
